Our preschool building, which is dedicated to STEAM education, boasts an expansive and inviting lobby, accommodating up to 235 students. It is equipped with an imagination launchpad and is maintained with the utmost care to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment. Our facilities are designed to provide an inspiring and futuristic learning experience, with state-of-the-art amenities including a STEAM experience room, hydroponics, coding, and robotics. We also prioritize safety, implementing advanced QR code security measures and a secure app video feed to ensure the protection of our students. Our curriculum is designed to prepare young minds for the future, with a strong emphasis on k-prep readiness and a science-based approach to nutrition and wellness. Additionally, we prioritize the development of physical and motor skills, creating a comprehensive learning experience that fosters growth in all areas of development.
Dr. Paulette S. Clemons
Dr. Paulette Clemons was born in Orange, Texas and moved to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 8. She is a wife, mother of 3, and six grandchildren ages 7-20 years old.
Dr. Paulette Clemons 38+ years of experience as an education professional, with special focus on program development implementation in Day Care, Child Care, Early Head Start, Head Start, and School-Age Programs. This experience provided Dr. Clemons an opportunity to provide a safe learning environment that offered quality services to families and an effective working relationship with the community in which she served. Through-out Dr. Clemons career in childcare, she had traveled to
Washington, D.C. and Springfield, IL. on number occasions to advocate for quality childcare and funding.
Dr. Clemons consistently demonstrated high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance, personal integrity, that would promote innovativeness, creative expression, and motivation.
Before joining Amazing Explorers Academy, Dr. Clemons was a Child Care Regulation Inspector that ensured a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and families according to the Texas Minimum Standard Regulations Laws and Policies. Work involved conducting facility inspections, conducting investigations, Monitored licensed and registered childcare facilities, documented compliance or noncompliance with standards using agency forms, and notified providers of required corrective or adverse actions being taken. Investigated complaints, serious incidents and reports of minimum standards violations in licensed childcare facilities and homes. Provided technical assistance to childcare providers on issues related to minimum standards. Dr. Clemons is excited by the prospect of bringing this
same level of commitment, energy, and enthusiasm to AEA.
Prior to working with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission before retiring and moving to Austin, Texas in 2018, Dr. Clemons held several promoted positions from 1988 to 2018 such as an Afterschool Group Worker, Summer Camp Director, Youth Director, Teacher, Network Coordinator Early Head Start Enhanced Family Child Care Homes Network, Infant and Toddler Specialist, a Head Start, and
Early Head Start Director. She maintained monthly attendance at 85%-95%, billings, client folders, and staff folders in strict confidentiality. Maintained personnel payroll, time sheets and documentation, Provided referrals to parents and children with special needs. Promoted and supported school readiness, maintained the Illinois Department of Children Family Services Licensing and Regulations. Implemented
the center’s National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation.
Supervised students from Roosevelt University who provided literacy development skills for the children at the center. Held weekly Team meetings/workshops to support and ensure early learning were being implemented. Held monthly parent meetings/workshops. Ongoing of recruitment of families into the
program and maintained a clean and safe learning environment.
Dr. Clemons had met the center’s Excell Rate GOLD and QRS Level 3 on several occasions and was in the top 30 out of 400 Head Start Programs in the City of Chicago.
A graduate of Capella University with a Doctor of Education degree with the specialization in Educational Leadership and Management. Also, from Capella University, a Master of Sciences in Education degree
with the specialization in Early Childhood Education, and a BA in the Board of Governors at Northeastern Illinois University. A member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Program Specialist.
In closing, Dr. Paulette is looking forward to engaging parents and staff members as shareholders to build on daily communication and collaboration. She will continue to lead by example to inspire in building a safe and healthy climate for infants, toddlers, preschool, afterschool care, program staff, families, and the
community in which we serve.
